Rating system

I can be a bit random when awarding a rating to books. I have a loose system that I sometimes remember to follow, but most often it comes down to how I’m feeling at the time – a mixture of gut feeling and level of irritability. Sometimes I look back at my ratings and wonder what was up with me that day.

My loose system centres on my favourite book in the world. See if you can guess what it is.

5 stars – as good as Crime and Punishment

4 stars – good, but not quite as good as Crime and Punishment

3 stars – a decent read, but no Crime and Punishment

2 stars – weak and could never be Crime and Punishment

1 star – a crime that deserves punishment

0 stars – Porfiry is waiting for you
